About
Amelia Bennett is a first-year staff member on The Powderhorn and a Spanish translator. She plays for the Watauga and High Country Soccer teams and is an athlete on the Watauga Swim Team. She is also the secretary of NHS, a member of French Honors Society and NAHS, and is part of the Watauga Yearbook staff. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, mountain biking, and doing art of any kind.

Waking Up to a New Schedule
Students across the county are waking up and leaving for school even earlier than before. This is because Watauga County Schools have implemented more hours in the school day in both K-8 schools and at Watauga High School beginning this school year. The reasoning behind this has to do with multiple factors.
