To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Starbucks has a new limited line of drinks. The two drinks are a Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Creme Frappuccino and the Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew.
We purchased two “grande” Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brews, as our location was out of the Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Creme Frappuccino, and the total was around $14. This price is slightly more expensive than their less complicated grande drinks since the Valentine’s drinks have more additives/customizations.
In our opinion, the drink was very good. The base was cold brew, and it was sweetened with hazelnut syrup. To further sweeten it, chocolate cold foam was added to the top and sprinkled with cookie crumbles. The flavor combination was nice and the hazelnut flavor was strong. It reminded us of the hazelnut-flavored chocolates that are given out on Valentine’s Day. We wouldn’t recommend this drink if you’re not a fan of really sweet drinks.
Alongside the limited-time holiday drinks, Starbucks has a constant menu that runs throughout the year. It includes hot coffees, hot teas, hot drinks, frappuccinos, cold coffees, iced teas, and cold drinks, all of which can be customized with various syrups, cold foams, milks, and toppings. Starbucks also has a food menu, which includes hot breakfast, oatmeal and yogurt, bakery items, lunch foods, and pre-packaged snacks and sweets.
Overall, if you’re looking for a peaceful environment to socialize, work, or study, this may not be the place for you. It can be very loud due to the music and espresso machines, and there are customers constantly coming in and out. There are many local coffee shops around town that offer comparable drinks for a cheaper price and have a better environment, and it is always good to support local businesses. However, we had a positive experience with this limited-time cold brew.
