The state-renowned Watauga Playmakers have chosen next year’s members, who will continue cultivating the legacy of this theater ensemble. These students were accepted into the program for their dedication to theater, their willingness to collaborate with others, and their outstanding work ethic. From rising sophomores to seniors, the actors will make an impressionable mark on next year’s theatrical pursuits.

Aspen Hickman, freshman, is looking forward to becoming a part of the Playmakers because of the good natured ensemble.

“The community in the department is really special,” said Hickman. “Everyone is so willing and ready to support others, and I think that's really valuable in making our ensemble works as good as they are.”

Evie Donovan, sophomore, believes that her strengths will help bring a lot to the new ensemble.

“I’m very organized,” said Donovan. “I feel that being able to stay on top of things as well as be present in the moment will help the focus of our ensemble. I’m also always willing to help anyone that needs it, so knowing that I can be someone others can talk to might also be helpful and comforting.”

Jovie Cornell, sophomore, is excited to share her passions and connect with the 25/26 playmaker ensemble.

“I am looking forward to being part of a group that shares such love and dedication for performing,” said Cornell. “Many of the 25/26 Playmakers I already know and love, and I am very excited to become closer to the rest of the ensemble.”

Benjamin Winkler, junior, is ready to be a jack of all trades for the 25/26 Playmakers ensemble.

“I can be a comedic relief, or a serious character,” said Winkler. “I can be almost anything the department needs me to be.”

Rachel Ingram, junior, is looking forward to all the unique events that come with being a playmaker.

“I’m looking forward to the collaboration that will step from being in the playmakers program,” said Ingram. “I am looking forward to hosting NCTC and I can’t wait to meet so many new people and see their amazing shows—as well as bonding with our ensemble over the weekend.”
