Students at The Spark’s poetry night brainstormed themes and messages on flashcards that they wanted to communicate through their poetry during the poetry workshop. Below is a poem written by a student during the workshop.
Poem by Delilah Wurth
Sometimes it seems as if there is nothing left
To be said
Nor to be noticed
the words, the thoughts, leave your body
It is overwhelming, whatever "It" is
This moment,
This feeling
You take it all in but are left with nothing
But a blank page.
That’s the beauty of this life
To live it means to experience all it has to offer
Even when you are left speechless on your drive home
Left to learn that the silence isn't bad,
The silence is proof that everything is worth noticing
That the absence of something
Leaves an impact.
