"Oh, How The Rain Falls"- a poem by Brennan Smith

Oh, how the rain falls:

Destroying, Driving, Drowning, Devastating.

Nature's untamed wrath,

Unrelenting,

ravaging an innocent town,

Without remorse

Without end.

Oh, how the rain falls:

attacking the defenseless,

the innocent.

A ruthless conqueror,

Seizing the streets,

Flooding every alley,

Every heart.

Oh, how the rain falls:

Bringing together a community.

Where people don't look at each other,

As an opposing political party,

as an enemy.

Instead, look at each other as a family,

as an ally.

Oh, how the rain falls:

The beauty isn't the ruin,

But in the rebirth.

For each flower is nourished by the rain,

Grows stronger,

And blooms anew.

Oh, how the rain falls.
