The Bookish Child

If they say that blessed is the girl who has

her head in a book

and her mind in the stars

then she

must be the most blessed of all.

Her mind lands foreign and imaginary,

a set always playing in the back of her head.

They call her crazy

when her face lights up

and no one is around.

Little do they know that there are people,

thousands of them,

keeping the girl company

all her

days.
