"Cold and Quiet" by Delilah Wurth

Cold and Quiet

The world is cold and quiet

Not the scary quiet that leaves a ringing in my ears

But the type of quiet that gives me hope for something more

I see my breath as it leaves my body

As a reminder that heat is still possible

Even in a blizzard

The stars look prettier on a cold and dark night

They are scattered across the sky

Like freckles on our skin

It should be no surprise that our bodies mimic the world

When that is exactly what we are

Creations of nature

-Delilah Wurth, sophomore
