Boots in the High Country by Jackson Anderson, Nathan Bishop, Abby Graham, and Amelie Fawson

ree

Our interest in boots was largely spurred by our observation of stigmas surrounding people who wear boots and our desire to dismantle these stereotypes. This story is important to Watauga High School because it highlights people who, even though they make up a large majority of our school, are underrepresented and misunderstood. As journalists, we value giving underrepresented people a chance to express themselves and highlighting the intricacies of culture. From this project, the reader can expect a fascinating menagerie of boots and the chance to understand why they are significant to Southern culture.
