The Artist of The Week with her most recent sculpture of her cat, Alice
Selah Greer, contributor to The Spark
Violet Miller, a student in Ceramics 1, is The Spark's first Artist of The Week.
Her inspiration for her art comes from two significant influences in her life, "my cat and my peers". When asked about her cat, Alice, she lovingly describes him as "very fat and lazy." Violet elaborated on how these distinctive features influenced her sculpture, saying, "I made her hips really wide and and her eyes really big because she loves food. When you love something your eyes get big."
Through thoughtful and humorous touches, Violet captures Alice’s personality in clay. Violet's passion for creativity, beauty, and humor in her art is what makes her the first Artist of The Week!
