Claire Anderson, a highly talented Watauga High School sophomore, is our second Artist of the Week.
Anderson has been involved with dancing since she was 3 years old, competing in numerous competitions across the United States annually. This summer, Claire participated in the Chicago-based dance intensive, Hubbard Street. Along with Hubbard Street, Claire has been accepted into many dance intensives spanning from New York to Los Angeles.
Claire says it has always been easy for her to stay motivated in her art because dancing brings her so much joy. Claire is a wonderful example of how students can take their art further than a hobby, as she is currently in the application process for Winston Salem’s School of the Arts and intends to make a career out of her passion for dance in the future.
Her favorite part of dance is how it is an art form that brings people together and allows them to be creative in “so many ways,” and her passion for dance is palpable.
