Trick or Treat?

With Halloween approaching quickly and trick or treating right around the corner, is there going to be a Boone BOO? Are younger siblings going to get to go trick or treating? Downtown Development Coordinator Lane S. Moody says, ¨I wish I had better news but Boone BOO has been cancelled this year.¨

So sadly we will not be able to attend the Boone Boo this year. But that doesn't mean Watauga Students can't do something spooky with their friends .What are some activities you could do for Halloween with your group of friends? Like going out and taking fall pictures, riding on the parkway, hikes, you could bake spooky treats and you could carve pumpkins.

The Center of Disease Control has some great low risk activities we can do like:

  • Carving or decorating pumpkins with members of your household and displaying them

  • Carving or decorating pumpkins outside, at a safe distance, with neighbors or friends

  • Decorating your house, apartment, or living space

  • Doing a Halloween scavenger hunt where you are given a list of Halloween-themed things to look for while they walk outdoors from house to house admiring Halloween decorations at a distance

  • Having a virtual Halloween costume contest,

  • Having a Halloween movie night with people you live with

  • Having a scavenger hunt-style trick-or-treat search with your household members in or around your home rather than going house to house

Watauga Students can get together and have a spooky movie marathon together. Sleepy Hollow, Frankenweenie, Halloween, Nightmare Before Christmas and Caroline are some of the suggestions that Watauga students said on the poll on our instagram page. Stay safe and have fun.
