Crushed
When I see you from behind
It makes my stomach flutter
And when we meet up face to face
My hands just turn to butter
But somehow I still love it
The way you look at me
I want to tell you how I care
And how yours I want to be
But a lump comes to my throat
It makes it hard to talk
I’m drowning and I need to float
I give a little squawk
I want you to love me
But silence then ensues
I stare down at my knees
You look down at your shoes
And although my silence spreads
Throughout eternity
I’m happy to look up
And see you smile at me.
