Fall is the season of pumpkin spice, chai, and warm drinks. With so many wonderful fall drinks out there, we ranked some of our favorites.
Our first stop was Starbucks where we ordered the iced pumpkin chai latte with cold foam: the ultimate fall drink. The base was iced chai tea with an added pumpkin flavor. The chai and pumpkin flavors weren’t overwhelming and worked well together. The cold foam was the star of the show, making the drink super creamy. It was $6.25 for 16 ounces, but it had a lot of ice. We rated it a 9/10.
At Starbucks, we also ordered the iced pecan crunch oat milk latte, topped with non dairy vanilla sweet cream cold foam. The base was an iced espresso and oat milk mixture with added pecan flavoring. The latte was made with a blonde espresso roast so the coffee flavor wasn’t too strong, but definitely prevalent. The pecan flavor was delicious, added a caramel flavor, and was the best part of the drink. In our opinion, there wasn’t a lot of “crunch” in the topping. As for the cold foam, we didn’t think the non-dairy cold foam tasted inferior to the regular one although it was not as creamy. It was $6.45 and we rated it an 8/10.
The last drink we ordered was the iced pumpkin chai from Stick Boy. This chai is packed full of flavor, as strong notes of pumpkin and chai spice make this drink delicious. You could easily taste the cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and other fragrant spices. It’s topped with whipped cream and a Biscoff cookie. Because of the unique cookie topping, the high-quality flavors, and the price of $6 for the 16-ounce drink, we rated it 10/10, our favorite of the three.
These cafes truly captured the fall spirit and crafted some great drinks. There are several locations in Boone where you can get seasonal drinks, we encourage you to check them out!
