After a long week of school, work, and the general troubles in life, most people look for a way to decompress and enjoy something special. Even though Boone has a few staple options, Jeremiah’s Ice has added a new and exciting opportunity for a sweet treat. Unlike anything that Boone has had before, Jeremiah’s offers something unique. Located across the street from Watauga High School, Jeremiah’s is a hopping location for anyone but has gained much popularity with Watauga’s high schoolers since the grand opening on November 18.
All Italian Ice shops that I have been to sell different flavors of the ice and only that. I did not expect that Jeremiah’s would be any different, but this concept takes a much different spin than any desert shop that I have been to before. With many different combinations of flavored ice, ice cream, and jelati, Jeremiah’s sweet treats provide the most delicious parfait of almost anything you can imagine.
At my initial arrival at Jeremiah’s, I was greeted with such a lovely atmosphere with a beautiful building. The staff members were so kind and patient while I decided what I wanted to order. With such a large array of options, it was a bit overwhelming, but ultimately I decided on the Strawberry Shortcake. There are many different flavors of both Italian ice and ice cream, ranging from fruity, sweet, and chocolatey flavors. While all of this is delicious on its own, combining them doubles the fun. The small size was affordable, costing only $6.00 with tax. I was not sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised when the ice was layered with both soft vanilla ice cream and graham cracker crumbs. I felt as if it was such a nice way to spruce up a simple yet delightful treat.
Since I visited the day after their grand opening, there were a lot of people there. The after-school rush was just hitting, which was so exciting for Jeremiah’s booming business. I was worried that we would not be able to find seating, but pleasantly enough, there were a lot of seating options both inside and on the patio. Parking was a small issue because of how busy they were, but I am confident that that won’t be a big problem when things calm down.
I was so pleased with my visit to Jeremiah’s Ice, and I cannot wait to return and try something new on the menu. This shop is definitely providing a positive atmosphere and some unique new treats for Boone to try. Between Watauga and App kids, I think that Jeremiah’s Ice will have great success.
